Deanna Hlywka ND - President
Deanna is a Naturopathic Doctor and Professional Labour Assistant practising in the city of Toronto. She has a special interest in Perinatal Health Care, Labour and Birth Support, and Pediatrics. Deanna has found that the sound principles and gentle therapies of Naturopathic Medicine support families in today’s society. She loves to educate the public and spread the word on Naturopathic Medicine – especially to young families - children respond very well to this medicine!
Supporting women and their families in birth has been a very rewarding experience and one that Deanna feels is a way in which she can support a stronger sense of community in a big city. She works in conjunction with OBs, Midwives, and MDs in home and hospital settings to help women experience birth, as they desire. Deanna and her partner also teach prenatal classes to ensure that families can make informed decisions regarding their childbirth options.
It was at the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine in Toronto where she completed four years of postgraduate study in areas such as Pharmacology, Physical & Clinical Diagnosis, Obstetrics/Gynecology, Orthopedics, Chinese Medicine, Homeopathy, Nutrition, etc. to earn the designation, N.D., Naturopathic Doctor. Previously, Deanna earned an Honours Bachelors of Science in Kinesiology from the University of Waterloo.
